Krispy Kreme field trip

These preschoolers had so much fun getting a tour of Krispy Kreme! This first picture is of the class waiting to go where all the donuts are made!
Watching the donuts cook then get frosted!

If you can't tell... all the kids are looking at the donuts that were already made and choosing which one they want!

This is the front view of the kids choosing what they want!

Mrs. Spier with her class!
From the left: Sammy, Summer Jo, Alexis, Connor, Emmalee, Jarae, Amalee, Cameron, Taytum, and Maggie in the front.

Right now we have 4 grandson, and 7 granddaughters, but soon 5 grandsons!!

preschool with Matt's puppies, and Thanksgiving feast.

The kids loved the puppies. They had so much fun petting them, and letting them lick their hands, and holding them in their laps. Thanks Matt for bringing them to show and tell.

The kids loved making their own vest out of grocery bags, and then coloring them to add their own touch. They also loved having a new indian head band too. They enjoyed all the yummy food that their parents donated for our yummy feast.

Zoo trip with Janeen, 3 of her boys, (Sammy, Johnny, and Matty), Ashley and her girls, Kristina and her girls, Julie and Matt, me (Dawn) and Greg

Wow!!! What a wonderful day at the Zoo. We had so much fun. Look at their faces. We just love eachothers company and try to be together as often as we can. The zoo seems to be the perfect place for this. We go and have fun, eat, and walk the zoo. From left: Sammy, Amalee, Summer Jo, Matty, Maggie, and Summer. They thought sitting on the elephant was so much fun. Ellie loves her picture taken. I think she will want to either be a photographer or a model. ha ha
Julie and Matt sitting on the Lions back. Cute couple, yes, yes they are!!!

We love it when Julie brings Mattt along. The 2 of them are such a great help. Thank you Matt and Julie, we love you guys. !!!!!!!

Julie and Matt

I can't believe that Julie can lift Matt up on her back. I am sure they had fun with all their friends at Red Mountain park. Someone's birthday, but I don't know which friend. Matt got his mission call. He is going to the Ukraine. He is to report to the MTC on January 28th, 2009. We will miss him, but he will have a wonderful time.

United States, the land that I LOVE

My mom sent me an email this morning. I was actually thinking some of these thoughts before the email, but I was still worried about my childrens future as well as my grandchildrens future. With the election over, and Obama as our new leader, I have to have a deeper faith, greater strength, and a deeper devotion to the Lord. We all need to pray even harder, more often, and keep the faith, that the Lord will not leave us in our time of need. The following is what was sent to me from my mom in Norway:

'Make no mistake about it, brothers and sisters, in the months and years ahead, events are likely to require each member to decide whether or not he will follow the First Presidency. Members will find it more difficult to halt longer between two opinion.
President Marion G. Romney said, many years ago, that he had never hesitated to follow the counsel of the Authorities of the Church even though it crossed my social, professional or political life.' This is hard doctrine, but it is particularly vital doctrine in a society which is becoming more wicked. In short, brothers and sisters, not being ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ includes not being ashamed of the prophets of Jesus Christ.
Your discipleship may see the time when such religious convictions are discounted...This new irreligious imperialism seeks to disallow certain opinions simply because those opinions grow out of religious convictions. 'Resistance to abortion will be seen as primitive..Concern over the institution of the family will be viewed as untrendy and unenlightened...Before the ultimate victory of the forces of righteousness, some skirmishes will be lost. Even in these, however, let us leave a record so that the choices are clear, letting others do as they will in the face of prophetic counsel.
There will also be times, happily, when a minor defeat seems probable, but others will step forward, having been rallied to rightness by what we do. We will know the joy, on occasion, of having awakened a slumbering majority of the decent people of all races and creeds which was, till then, unconscious of itself. Jesus said that when the fig trees put forth their leaves, 'summer is nigh.' Thus warned that summer is upon us, let us not then complain of the heat.'
Elder Neal A. Maxwell Feb. 1979 Ensign

I am so glad to have a mom that is informed, even though she is far away. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus Christ. I know that my Savior lives, he loves all of us. To all who read this, let us remember who we are: Sons and Daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves us!

Herman and Julie, and Dawn and Julie

This is Herman with Julie on her 18th birthday in June. Julie makes cute faces. I can't believe we don't take a bunch of pictures of ourselves, but oh well. I guess we better start. I can't even find a pic of Greg with either one of us, or by himself. At least not a recent one.

This is a picture of Julie and me. I believe she is even holding the camera. She is good at that. I think she is cute with bangs, but she likes it on the side.

Julie and her cute boyfriend Matt

We thought maybe those viewing our family blog would like to see what Julie is up to. This is Julie with her boyfriend Matt. We like him too.

Zoo trip, fun, fun, fun in the water!!!

Ellie totally loves the water, even if it is in her face!!!
I think she will always love the zoo trips!!!

These 3 love the water, Summer Jo thought
that I was going to put her down the slide, so
she was not a happy camper in the picture,
she is way left, only her left leg is in the picture.

Summer in front of the little water fall. She thought that was great!!!

Amalee and Maggie were doing the spider crawl. They were so funny.

Taycee the artist!!!

I thought this was so cute!!
She drew a picture of her Aunt Julie and Julies' boyfriend Matt.
The funny part is, look how tall Julie is.
Matt is 6 ft 4, and Julie is only 5 ft 2. ha ha!!!

This is my sweet class this year. I just love them. They are so eager to learn, and of course so fun to teach. They have so much energy, I wish I could bottle their energy in a jar, and take some every morning. I couldn't have asked for a better group of kids. I am so lucky!!!

On the Labor Day River run we only had Mike, Chelsea, Ellie, Julie, Greg, and Herman and I. As for friends we had Julie's boyly friend Matt, and Matt's friend Bulley. On Friday night my Nephew Ben and his wife Sarah, their son Seth, and baby girl Tegan arrived, and then on Sunday my nephew Shawn and his wife Denise, and their daughter Riley came, with some of their friends too. So we had a nice group. But we missed our other kids, they were busy this weekend. We did have a blast though. If you want to come with us (anyone) let us know, and we will see what we can do. Fun Fun in the Sun!!!

Julie had a Syrup Party

Julie is center, in the red shirt. Her boyfriend Matt is to the left in the Yellow shorts.

The girls each had 2 bottles of strawberry syrup to get the boys with.

The boys each had one bottle of chocolate to get the girls with. They had a blast.
